How can I move my check printing setup from an old computer to a new one?

For NTS versions 4.20 and above

  1. Make a backup using the Everything backup
  2. Restore your files on the new computer using the Everything option. This will transfer not only the data but the print setup as well.

For NTS versions 4.14 and below

Depending on your version of NTS, the check printing setup information is stored in 8 files or in one single file. These files can be found in the "mstrch.dir" folder.

  1. Locate the mstrch.dir folder. This folder will be located in the NTS installation folder or the NTS data folder. The default installation folder is "C:\Program Files\NTSwin\" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\NTSwin\". The default data folder is "C:\NTSData". Check all possible folder locations.   2. Copy the following file(s), based on your version of NTS, from the old computer to the new computer. Replace the existing files on the new computer with the files from the old computer.
